Lied suddenly! Fact checking the Died Suddenly Shockumentary.
The Stew Peters Network were proud to present their latest antivax offering called DIED SUDDENLY, from the award winning filmmakers, Matthew Skow and Nicholas Stumphauzer. A better name for the shockumentary would be LIED SUDDENLY because it is essentially 1 hour and 8 minutes of blatant lies. In this video, Dr Susan Oliver and Cindy the dog go back to the science and do a little fact checking and expose the lies. https://youtu.be/c1--MQz5PyE New ‘Died Suddenly’ Film Pushes Unfounded Depopulation Claims About Covid-19 Vaccine A film entitled Died Suddenly premiered Monday on Twitter and, spoiler alert, it wasn’t a rom-com. But that doesn’t mean that the film didn’t have a whole lot of fiction, even though a website bearing the movie trailer claimed that the film will “present the truth about the greatest ongoing mass genocide in human history.” This website also asserted that “the global elite have broadcast their intentions to depopulate the world.” And take a wild guess as to what this film claimed that these elite have been using to do their genociding and depopulating the world thing. Nickelback music? Low rise jeans? No, Covid-19 vaccines. Yes, welcome to yet another conspiracy theory about Covid-19 vaccines. Actually, this conspiracy theory isn’t completely new and has been sticking around for the past two years or so, kind of like gum on an Ugg boot. It’s been one of a salad bar of anti-vaxxer claims that have emerged since late 2020, ranging from Covid-19 vaccines turning people into gigantic magnets where keys can stick to their foreheads to Covid-19 vaccines causing completely healthy people to drop dead. The title of this film is kind of like the movie titles Snakes on a Plane and Sausage Party in that it captures the story that the film is trying to tell. Died Suddenly spends much of its hour and eight minute run time suggesting that many people have been dying suddenly after getting Covid-19 vaccines. https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucelee/2022/11/22/new-died-suddenly-film-pushes-unfounded-depopulation-claims-about-covid-19-vaccine/ It is a "conspiracy theory" movie, so expect that going in The Covid-19 vaccine debate has been raging on multiple sides for as long as it's been around. Some say it's "100% safe, 100% effective" while others say it's part of a WEF/WHO/CDC/FDA conspiracy to depopulate the planet. This documentary leans heavily toward the latter argument. It has some good stuff in it for sure, regarding the mysterious blood clots (myocarditis) that do form in some people after vaccination (this has been verified in well over a thousand peer-reviewed journals). A number of embalmers are interviewed and testify seeing highly unusual clots in recently Covid vaccinated and now deceased people. There are even literal autopsy/embalming videos graphically showing the clots being pulled from arteries. Where the movie will lose a large part of the audience (including myself) is that it goes on to claim that this is all deliberate, with the ultimate goal of killing millions/billions of people to depopulate the planet in order to make it more sustainable. Surely if that is the case, the Covid-19 vaccines have been wholly ineffective. This conspiracy angle doesn't really make sense, but of course idoes make the whole documentary wildly more controversial (and, dare I say it, entertaining). Overall, It's worth a watch (it's not long at least), but be sure to do so with a hefty pinch of salt. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt23810972/reviews?ref_=tt_ov_rt Anti-vax film ‘Died Suddenly’ is littered with fake claims, testing boundaries of Musk’s Twitter. THE FILM IS FILLED WITH FOOTAGE OF FAINTING INDIVIDUALS WHO NEVER ACTUALLY DIED. The film, which centers around the belief that inoculations will be used to “depopulate the world,” claims to show footage of individuals who collapsed and died sometime after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. The documentary was posted by the Died Suddenly Twitter account, which is currently verified due to Musk’s now-paused decision to provide blue check marks to users who pay $8, and quickly racked up more than 22,000 shares and over 830,000 views. The term “Died Suddenly” has been a trending topic on the platform for two days, leading the film’s account to praise Musk in a tweet labeling itself as “the first movie to premiere on Twitter since your friendly takeover.” And while Twitter has thus far declined to flag the film for misinformation, numerous Twitter users have. A lengthy thread from one such account has revealed that countless examples of vaccine deaths in the documentary are outright false. https://www.dailydot.com/debug/died-suddenly-documentary-twitter-debunk/ PEOPLE WANT TO FEEL LIKE THEIR CONCERNS ARE HEARD. BEING DISMISSED CAN LEAD TO LOSS OF TRUST, WHICH CAN SEND PEOPLE LOOKING FOR EMPATHY IN THE WRONG PLACES. Members of the anti-vaccination movement and of its media arm excel at portraying themselves as “those who care.” The rest of us—scientists, doctors, politicians, journalists—are represented as either apathetic or simply evil. The latest “documentary” to emerge from this movement, Died Suddenly, is an exercise in reframing compassion. It also represents the apogee of conspiritualist ideas, where grand conspiracy theories surrounding vaccines are painted on a canvas so large, they involve a Biblical war between the forces of absolute good and those of pure evil. Who are portrayed as ringing the alarm for Armageddon in Died Suddenly? Embalmers. A TALE MADE OUT OF WHOLE CLOT The documentary’s smoking gun is the alleged discovery of long, white, fibrous clots in the deceased bodies of people who, we are told, got vaccinated against COVID-19. Sometimes, their blood also looks dirty, like it contains coffee grounds. This claim seems to have originated from Richard Hirschman, an embalmer in Alabama, who spoke about it to The Epoch Times, a frequent vehicle for misinformation and grand conspiracy theories. Hirschman and a few other embalmers testify to their findings in Died Suddenly, with some being blurred out, their voices altered, like they are sharing secrets so damning they’re about to be shipped to their local witness protection program. Every conspiracy demands its whistleblower, and Hirschman serves as one of many for this documentary. He can boldly speak out while his colleagues self-censor, he tells us, because he doesn’t work for a funeral home. The movie cozies up to the body horror genre by repeatedly showing us images and clips of these lengthy strings of organic matter being pulled out of post-mortem incisions. The power of these alien, rubbery artefacts grows in the telling: in the Epoch Times piece, a cardiologist says these clots have “nearly the strength of steel.” Given the shock that these visuals can give to the untrained eye, it’s no wonder these supposed “vaccine clots” are making the rounds on TikTok. https://www.mcgill.ca/oss/article/covid-19-critical-thinking/anti-vaccine-documentary-died-suddenly-wants-you-feel-not-think Conspiracy theories are a mental health crisis https://conspiranon.blogspot.com/2022/09/detecting-conspiracy-theories-on-social.html # Lifting Universal Masking in Schools — Covid-19 Incidence among Students and Staff List of authors: Tori L. The problem is, though, that there are a lot of people doing it wrong, which means it may not be as satisfying for them as it could be. Blood clots are often triggered by certain events such as injuries, surgeries, or infections like COVID-19. Blood clotting is a well-recognized complication of SARS-CoV-2 infection. It has also been identified as an extremely rare side effect of certain COVID-19 vaccines. The risk with vaccines is exceedingly low and individuals are at a significantly higher risk of developing a blood clot from COVID-19 infection than following COVID-19 vaccination. Yazan Abou-Ismail, MD, a hematologist and assistant professor in the Division of Hematology & Hematologic Malignancies at University of Utah Health, specializes in disorders of clotting and bleeding and answers questions about the association of blood clots with COVID-19 and certain vaccines. WHERE DO BLOOD CLOTS OCCUR? Blood clots can occur either in the veins or arteries. Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot forms in the deep veins of your body, usually in the lower leg, thigh, or pelvis. A blood clot that travels from the deep veins and blocks one of the arteries in your lungs is called a pulmonary embolism (PE) and may be life-threatening. Less commonly, venous blood clots can also occur in other locations, such as the brain or abdomen. https://healthcare.utah.edu/healthfeed/postings/2021/07/blood-clotting-covid19.php What Is Known About COVID-19 and Abnormal Blood Clotting https://news.weill.cornell.edu/news/2020/07/what-is-known-about-covid-19-and-abnormal-blood-clotting Why COVID-19 could be causing blood clots — and what you can do to lower your risk https://health.osu.edu/health/virus-and-infection/blood-clots-covid Study finds risk of serious blood clots up to six months after covid-19 https://www.bmj.com/company/newsroom/study-finds-increased-risk-of-serious-blood-clots-up-to-six-months-after-covid-19/ New Cause of COVID-19 Blood Clots Identified A study reveals the virus triggers production of antibodies circulating through the blood, causing clots in people hospitalized with the disease. https://labblog.uofmhealth.org/lab-report/new-cause-of-covid-19-blood-clots-identified Deadly COVID-19 blood clot leads to first-ever intervention When a blood clot caused by a COVID-19 infection landed Brenda Crowell in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) — leaving her clinically dead for more than 30 minutes — a team of physicians in the FMC’s new Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) immediately stepped in with a new device never before used in Canada to remove the clot and save Crowell’s life. Scientists debate evidence for a micro-clot hypothesis that has some people pursuing potentially risky treatments. When Lara Hawthorne, an illustrator in Bristol, UK, began developing strange symptoms after having COVID-19, she hoped that they weren’t due to the virus. Her initial illness had been mild. “I’ve been triple vaccinated. I felt quite protected,” she says. But months later, she was still sick with a variety of often debilitating symptoms: earaches, tinnitus, congestion, headaches, vertigo, heart palpitations, muscle pain and more. On some days, Hawthorne felt so weak that she could not get out of bed. When she finally saw her physician, the diagnosis was what she had been dreading: long COVID. Unable to find relief, she became increasingly desperate. After reading an opinion piece in The Guardian newspaper about how blood clots might be to blame for long COVID symptoms, Hawthorne contacted a physician in Germany who is treating people with blood thinners and a procedure to filter the blood. She hasn’t heard back yet — rumour has it that people stay on the waiting list for months — but if she has the opportunity to head there for these unproven treatments, she probably will. “I don’t want to wait on my health when I’m feeling so dreadful,” she says. Researchers are baffled by long COVID: hundreds of studies have tried to unpick its mechanism, without much success. Now some scientists, and an increasing number of people with the condition, have been lining up behind the as-yet-unproven hypothesis that tiny, persistent clots might be constricting blood flow to vital organs, resulting in the bizarre constellation of symptoms that people experience. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-02286-7 International Multi-Center Study Confirms Stroke Risk in Younger Healthier COVID-19 Patients The largest study on severe stroke and COVID-19 published to date found even moderate COVID-19 infection increased risk of death in younger, healthier stroke patients. https://www.jefferson.edu/about/news-and-events/2022/03/study-confirms-stroke-risk-in-younger-covid19-patients.html Heart-disease risk soars after COVID — even with a mild case Massive study shows a long-term, substantial rise in risk of cardiovascular disease, including heart attack and stroke, after a SARS-CoV-2 infection. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-00403-0 COVID-19 INCREASING STROKE RISKS IN PEOPLE OF ALL AGES https://healthcare.utah.edu/healthfeed/postings/2022/01/covid19-increasing-stroke-risks.php After COVID-19, experts say watch for these potential heart and brain problems By Michael Merschel, American Heart Association News https://www.stroke.org/en/news/2022/03/31/after-covid-19-experts-say-watch-for-these-potential-heart-and-brain-problems COVID-19 diagnosis raises risk of heart attack, stroke https://www.health.harvard.edu/heart-health/covid-19-diagnosis-raises-risk-of-heart-attack-stroke Does COVID-19 Increase Your Risk of Stroke? https://www.bannerhealth.com/healthcareblog/advise-me/does-covid-19-increase-your-risk-of-stroke Proposed pathogenesis for stroke in patients with COVID-19 https://www.mayoclinic.org/medical-professionals/neurology-neurosurgery/news/proposed-pathogenesis-for-stroke-in-patients-with-covid-19/mac-20529959 Stroke risk among older adults highest in first 3 days after COVID-19 diagnosis American Stroke Association International Stroke Conference, Presentation TMP16 https://newsroom.heart.org/news/stroke-risk-among-older-adults-highest-in-first-3-days-after-covid-19-diagnosis COVID-19 Is an Independent Risk Factor for Acute Ischemic Stroke An ischemic stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is interrupted or reduced, preventing brain tissue from getting oxygen and nutrients. Brain cells begin to die in minutes. A stroke is a medical emergency, and prompt treatment is crucial. Early action can reduce brain damage and other complications. BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an active worldwide pandemic with diverse complications. Stroke as a presentation has not been strongly associated with COVID-19. The authors aimed to retrospectively review a link between COVID-19 and acute stroke. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We conducted a retrospective case-control study of 41 cases and 82 control subjects matched by age, sex, and risk factors. Cases were patients who underwent stroke alert imaging with confirmed acute stroke on imaging between March 16 and April 5, 2020, at 6 hospitals across New York City. Control subjects were those who underwent stroke alertimaging during the same timeframe without imaging evidence of acute infarction. Data pertaining to diagnosis of COVID-19 infection, patient demographics, and risk factors were collected. A univariate analysis was performed to assess the covariate effect of risk factors and COVID-19 status on stroke imaging with positive findings. RESULTS: The mean age for cases and controls was 65.5 ± 15.3 years and 68.8 ± 13.2 years, respectively. Of patients with acute ischemic stroke, 46.3% had COVID-19 infection compared with 18.3% of controls (P = .001). After adjusting for age, sex, and risk factors, COVID-19 infection had a significant independent association with acute ischemic stroke compared with control subjects (OR, 3.9; 95% CI, 1.7–8.9; P = .001). CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrated that COVID-19 infection is significantly associated with imaging confirmation of acute ischemic stroke, and patients with COVID-19 should undergo more aggressive monitoring for stroke. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7658882/
