2020: Domestic terror in the age of Trump.
A new database of domestic terror incidents shows attacks by far-right extremists have become far more lethal since Donald Trump became president.
Domestic terrorism investigations have more than doubled since 2020, according to the FBI. FBI and DHS are the main federal entities charged with preventing terrorist attacks in the U.S. FBI has lead responsibility for federal domestic terrorism investigations and domestic intelligence efforts. DHS is responsible for producing terrorist threat information in coordination with federal, state and local government agencies, and private entities.
Patrick Crusius is the quintessential Trump-era terror suspect: a White man, radicalized online, enmeshed in White nationalist ideology, directly inspired by preceding acts of terror and fueled by the angry belief that White men like himself are being “replaced” by brown-skinned immigrants.
“America is full of hypocrites who will blast my actions as the sole result of racism and hatred of other countries,” he wrote in his four-page manifesto, posted on 8chan just before he allegedly murdered 23 people at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, last August. “This is just the beginning of the fight for America and Europe.”

Users on social media were sharing a photo of a 1924 Ku Klux Klan (KKK) parade that has been repeatedly mislabeled, saying it shows the Democratic National Convention (DNC) of that same year. This false claim has been circulating since 2015.
The photo, which is part of the Wisconsin Historical Society archive actually shows members of the KKK parading in Madison, Wisconsin on December 2, 1924.
The 1924 Democratic National Convention, held at Madison Square Garden in New York from June 24 to July 9, is the longest political convention in American history. It is true that the Ku Klux Klan played a part in it, but at the time the KKK had influence in both the Republican and the Democratic parties.
By 1925, the KKK had as many as 4 million members and considerable political power in some states ( here ). Historian Linda Gordon has written about the KKK’s presence in politics in the 1920s ( here ). In her book The Second Coming of the KKK, she noted that KKK used politics and elections “to make war", and that their political presence was “pretty much equally divided between Democrats and Republicans”.
The New York Times described the KKK as the “most powerful bloc in the Democratic Party” during the 1924 convention but explained it was also “fiercely opposed.”
On July 4, 1924 and coinciding with the DNC the KKK organized a massive rally in New Jersey against New York Governor Al Smith, who was considered the strongest candidate for the democratic nomination.
The Ku Klux Klan was at the height of its popularity when more than 30,000 members — racists and anti-Semites marching 22 abreast and 14 rows deep — paraded down Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington on Aug. 8, 1925.
WHERE DOES THE KKK HOLD THEIR MEETINGS TODAY.. WHY, IN THE EVANGELICAL CHURCHES...

SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 1996, SOCIAL MEDIA HAS MANAGED TO INFILTRATE MORE THAN HALF OF THE 8.06 BILLION PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.
On June 3, 2020, federal authorities arrested three individuals allegedly associated with the “boogaloo” movement, a loosely-organized group of extremists preparing for a civil war, for conspiring to cause violence in Las Vegas and possessing an improvised incendiary device.1 Less than a week later, law enforcement officials near Richmond, VA, arrested Harry H. Rogers, a member of the Ku Klux Klan, for driving a vehicle into peaceful protesters.
Around the same time, members of a Brooklyn anarchist group urged its supporters to conduct “rebellion” against the government. Extremists from all sides flooded social media with disinformation, conspiracy theories, and incitements to violence in response to the protests following the death of George Floyd, swamping Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and other platforms.
